FRANKLIN, Tenn. – The No. 3 Ole Miss men's golf team heads to the Music City this week for play at the Mason Rudolph Championship April 4-6 at the Vanderbilt Legends Club. Last season the Rebels took home a second-place finish as four players finished inside the top 20. Cameron Tankersley led the way for Ole Miss, placing in a tie for third.

BEHIND THE ARCHITECTURE
Since its opening in 1992, Vanderbilt Legends Club has made its mark in the world of golf by receiving national recognition and accolades. Designed by Tom Kite and Bob Cupp, the par-71 South Course, measuring 7,100 yards, takes players through verdant fields winding in the shadow of historic Roper's Knob hillside. With a mix of wooded and open spaces, the South Course offers a unique and challenging golf experience.

THOUGHTS FROM COACH MALLOY
"We are looking forward to getting back into tournament play. This group has had a chance to get back to work on a few things that we struggled with the past couple of events. Hopefully we can get some momentum started this week leading into the post season."

THOSE BOYS CAN PLAY
The recipe for success for Ole Miss this season has been solid team golf. Michael La Sasso, Cameron Tankersley, Cohen Trolio, Kye Meeks, Tom Fischer and Collins Trolio have all finished inside the top five at least once this season.

Tankersley and Meeks set new career-best finishes and career-low 54-hole scores during the fall. Tom Fischer rounded out October with back-to-back top four finishes, marking a new career-best at the Hamptons Intercollegiate and Fallen Oak. La Sasso broke through for his first collegiate victory back in October at the Hamptons Intercollegiate (Oct. 7-8). The junior from Raleigh, North Carolina dominated the field shooting (-15, 201) winning the event by 11 strokes. Cohen Trolio began his spring with a new career-low 54-hole score of (-11, 205) finishing fifth at the Puerto Rico Classic.

GAME RECOGNIZES GAME
With arguably one of the deeper lineups in the country, the accolades for Ole Miss' Michael La Sasso and Cameron Tankersley have piled in during the 2024-25 campaign. Both were named to the 2025 Ben Hogan Award Watch List on January 29, recognizing the top 40 amateur golfers in the country. Building off an All-American season in 2023-24, La Sasso was named to the 2024-25 Haskins Award Presented by Stifel First Spring Watch List on March 10. The duo of La Sasso and Tankersley have combined for 25 rounds in red figures and seven top 10 finishes this season.

BROTHERLY LOVE
Golf is one of the more unique games that can be played as an individual or as a member of a team. When you pair family with it, the game doesn't get much sweeter. For the sibling duo of Cohen and Collins Trolio, having the chance to play collegiate golf for the same university over the next two seasons is something they'll cherish forever.

"We have a really cool relationship and have been around each other and our best friends" Cohen said. "I missed him when I was gone and we'd talk on the phone most nights, but it's cool to be able to come to a school and play together and learn from other people."

"It could not have worked out any better because I never saw us getting the chance to play collegiately together" Collins said. "I learned to play the game by watching Cohen so it's cool now that we get to compete against each other and play on the same team."

UNFINISHED BUSINESS
The Rebels look to make it back to postseason play after heartbreak last season at the Stanford Regional. Ole Miss fell one stroke from the cut line to advance to the NCAA Championship. The team finished the 2023-24 regular season with seven top five finishes, 16 individual top 10 finishes, and a team victory at the Seminole Intercollegiate down in Tallahassee. The Rebels carded 20 rounds under par, including a 262-round score on the final day of the 2023 Visit Knoxville Collegiate. The 262 score of (-18) set the new lowest single-round score in program history.

FULL SWING AHEAD
Following play in Franklin, the Rebels will wrap regular season play at the Mossy Oak Invitational April 14-15, in West Point, Mississippi. Mossy Oak Golf Club will be the site of the two-day event with Mississippi State set to serve as the host.
