No. 17 Softball Shatters Program Record with Six All-South Region Honorees

5/15/2025 | Softball

OXFORD, Miss. – The No. 17 Ole Miss softball program made history on Thursday, as six Rebels were tabbed to the NFCA All-South Region.

The mark shatters the previous record of three honorees, which had been accomplished three times.

Catcher Lexie Brady and outfielder Jaden Pone were named to the All-South Region First Team. Pitcher Miali Guachino, first baseman Persy Llamas and two-way player Aliyah Binford were tabbed to the Second Team, while second baseman Mackenzie Pickens earned Third Team honors.

Brady and Pone gave the Rebels multiple First Team honorees in a season for the first time in program history. The duo become the sixth and seventh First Team honorees, joining Tate Whitely (2023), Kylan Becker (2019), Elantra Cox (2017 & 2016), RT Cantillo (2014) and Lauren Grill (2010 & 2008).

Additionally, three Rebel freshmen took home honors, also setting a program-high. Llamas joins Amanda Fine (1997) as the only freshmen to earn both All-SEC and All-Region honors in the same season.

An All-SEC and All-Region First Team honoree, Pone adds to her incredible season, where she's hit .390 with eight extra-base hits, 15 stolen bases and 18 RBI. Her efforts were particularly impactful in SEC play, where she led the conference in batting average at .427.

Brady also adds another award to her sensational career, hitting .321 with 15 home runs and 45 RBI and slugging .724, while adding 24 walks. Her 15 home runs are tied for the single-season program record at Ole Miss with DeDe Justice (2003). Her illustrious career has landed her in the top-10 all-time at Ole Miss in home runs, RBI, slugging percentage, on-base percentage and walks.

Binford takes home All-Region honors for the third time in her career, after two such awards at Baylor. The veteran has done it all in 2025, hitting .316 with eight home runs, a team-high 12 doubles and 46 RBI, while also going 9-3 with a 3.45 ERA (95.1 IP) in the circle.

Guachino takes home an award after a huge freshman campaign, where she's gone 15-10 with a 3.31 ERA (137.2 IP), tallying 11 complete games, six shutouts and striking out 168 batters, while holding opposing batters to a .218 batting average. Guachino set the single-game program record with 19 strikeouts in a game at Southern Miss and has the most strikeouts in a single season in program history since 2004.

Llamas has been a model of consistency in her stellar freshman campaign, hitting .369 with seven home runs, 10 doubles and a team-high 48 RBI. Her 48 RBI are the most by any Rebel freshman and the second-most in program history, behind only Abbey Latham (54 – 2019).

Pickens takes home the first year-end honor of her career after a dynamic freshman season. Pickens has hit .329 with seven home runs and 33 RBI, while also stealing 10 bases. Like her fellow freshman, Pickens has shined in the big moments, hitting a go-ahead three-run home run to take down No. 4 Florida in extra innings at the SEC Tournament.

The Rebels turn their attention to the 2025 NCAA Tournament and the Tucson Regional, as the Rebels face off against No. 23 Grand Canyon on Friday at 9 p.m. CT to open the tournament. The game will be televised on ESPNU.
