Track & Field Earns Nine Entries to NCAA Indoor Championships
3/3/2026 | Track and Field
INDIANAPOLIS – Ole Miss track & field scored nine total entries from seven athletes in the initial qualifying lists for the 2026 NCAA Indoor Championships released late Tuesday night.
Medical scratches can be applied until next Tuesday, but Ole Miss will have at least these nine qualifying entries at the indoor national meet, which will be held March 13-14 at the University of Arkansas. To qualify, student-athletes needed to finish within the top-16 of their individual events or top-12 as a relay by the end of the regular season.
Leading the way for Ole Miss are two top-ranked performances, one courtesy of three-time NCAA Champion Tarik Robinson-O'Hagan in the men's shot put at his career-best blast of 21.18m/69-6 that ranks 20th in collegiate history, and the other from breakout senior Alicia Burnett at her blazing SEC title winning 7.08 in the women's 60-meter dash – 10th-best ever by a collegiate runner.
Other national qualifying berths came from: junior Akaoma Odeluga in both the women's shot put (third, 18.69m/61-4) and weight throw (fifth, 23.08m/75-08.75); Robinson-O'Hagan in the weight throw (fourth, 23.78m/78-00.25); All-American senior and defending NCAA Outdoor champion Arvesta Troupe in the men's high jump (sixth, 2.23m/7-03.75); junior Skylar Soli in the women's weight throw (ninth, 22.34m/73-03.50); junior Sterling Scott in the men's triple jump (15th, 16.28m/53-5); and senior Bryson Smith in the men's weight throw (16th, 22.29m/73-01.75).
