  Strength & Conditioning

The Ole Miss strength and conditioning program features 11 full-time staff and supports the mission and goals of the University of Mississippi, the NCAA, and the SEC. The department is in place to enable each student-athlete to reach his or her fullest potential socially, academically and athletically. We are dedicated to providing each student-athlete with every resource possible to help them reach individual and team success. This includes a demanding yet positive atmosphere at all times.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of this strength and conditioning program is to prepare athletes to adapt and thrive under the stress load of practicing - with specific consideration of the relevant biomotor abilities, metabolic demands, psychological factors and injury risk associated with the sport.

Top priority is to improve high speed, loaded and unloaded, total body coordination and mechanical efficiency. We will imitate the demands of athletics by striving to produce as many maximal or near maximal contractions as often as possible in training. Our team must be conditioned to handle and thrive at a relentless, up tempo pace. Everything we do in training is done to help the athletes more efficiently execute the movement requirements of their sport. We will demand discipline, intensity and intelligent effort while we work towards improving physical capabilities. We will cultivate a high energy environment where enthusiasm and competition will flourish.
