Dr. Thaddeus Rivers joined Ole Miss in February 2020 after being named Assistant Athletic Director for Football Operations.
In his role, Rivers assists in managing the day-to-day administrative operations of the football program including program budget, game day operations, team travel, and compliance.
Rivers arrived in Oxford after spending time as a Senior Associate at Brentwood Partners. Prior to Brentwood, Rivers was the Director of Football Operations for the Orlando Apollos of the AAF. With the Apollos, he oversaw all non-coaching aspects of the football team including practice scheduling, budgeting, contract negotiation, individual and team travel, meals, and lodging.
Prior to joining the Orlando Apollos, Rivers spent 14 years at the University of Central Florida, working as the Assistant Equipment Manager for Football and the Director of Football Letterman’s Club. There he was a part of five Conference Championship teams and nine bowl appearances, including the 2017 undefeated team.
Before joining UCF, Rivers spent the 2002 and 2003 seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers serving as an equipment intern. Tampa Bay won Super Bowl XXXVII during Rivers’ tenure with the team.
Rivers earned a degree in Commercial Recreation from the University of Florida in 2001. While at UF, he worked as a student assistant for the football team for five years, including the 1996 national championship team.
The Tallahassee, Florida, native also holds a Masters in Sports Leadership and Coaching (2008) and a Doctorate in Higher Education and Policy Studies (2015) from the University of Central Florida. He and his wife Rochelle have two children, daughter, Adriann and son, Thaddeus II.
