Henderson, Rosamond Lead Ole Miss Past Florida

OXFORD, Miss. - Brad Henderson hit two home runs and drove in four runs, and Michael Rosamond was 4-for-4 with two RBI to lead Ole Miss to a 14-4 win over Florida Sunday afternoon to sweep the weekend's three-game series.
It was Ole Miss' first-ever three-game sweep of the Gators and it marked the first time since 1986 that the Rebels have swept two, three-game SEC series' in the same season.
After scoring a run in the second, Ole Miss (20-16, 10-5 SEC) scored four runs in the fourth off home runs from Burney Hutchinson, Michael Rosamond and Brad Henderson to make it 5-0. Hutchinson's and Rosamond's were back-to-back solo shots, while Henderson's was a two-run shot to cap the inning.
Florida (22-15, 6-9 SEC) rallied for four runs of its own in the fifth, highlighted by Peter Nystrom's two-run bases loaded double, to cut the lead Ole Miss lead to 5-4.
The Rebels, however, broke the game open in the bottom of the inning, scoring five runs on just one hit as Ole Miss took advantage of two Florida errors and five walks issued by three different Gator pitchers in the inning.
Henderson hit his second home run of the game in the eighth inning, another two-run shot to cap a four-run inning for the final 14-4 margin.
Nathan Lyons, 2-1, picked up the win in relief, pitching 4.2 scoreless innings, allowing two hits and striking out three.
Florida starter Jay Belflower, 1-2, suffered the loss, allowing five earned runs on six hits and two walks in 3.2 innings of work.
The Rebels will host Southern Mississippi Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m. in their only non- conference game of the week. Ole Miss will host Georgia in a three-game SEC series starting Friday at 7:00 p.m. as the Rebels continue their nine-game homestand.
