Women's Hoops Falls to No. 2 Tennessee

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - Tamika Catchings scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to lead five players in double figures as No. 2 Tennessee beat Mississippi 92-51 Tuesday night.
Chamique Holdsclaw scored 19 points and Kristen Clement added 13 for the Lady Volunteers (10-1).
Tarsha Bethley scored 13 points to lead Ole Miss (9-3), who only trailed 15-12 midway through the first half. The Lady Volunteers then went on a 13-2 run to take control of the game.
Tennessee, playing without starting center Teresa Geter who suffered a knee injury in the Lady Volunteers' last game against UCLA, led 41-23 at the half, limiting Ole Miss to only eight baskets.
Ole Miss cut the lead to 15 points on two occasions in the second half, but shot just 21 percent in the half.
Sarah Edwards completed a 3-point play with 1:05 remaining to give Tennessee its biggest lead at 91-46.
Tennessee forced the Lady Rebels into 14 first-half turnovers and 30 in the game.
Niya Butts had 11 points and Semeka Randall added 10 for Tennessee.
