Men's Tennis Ranked No. 3 In Latest Rankings

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss men's tennis team will open the NCAA Championships this weekend ranked No. 3 in the nation as the latest rankings were released. This ranking is a team only ranking.
This is the highest ranking for the Rebels this year after spending most of the season at No. 4 in the nation. The Rebels had dropped to seventh in the last poll, but with their quality of wins, the ranking of those teams, they moved up.
Ole Miss is a close third behind Duke. Duke had a 51.21 points per match average, while the Rebels had a 50.33 average. The Rebels have posted seven wins over teams in the top 20 including three in the top 10.
The Rebels are getting ready to host the NCAA Regionals Friday and Saturday at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center. Ole Miss will meet Navy in the first round at 10:00 a.m. Friday followed by Virginia and South Alabama at 2:00 p.m. The final will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday.
In the women's rankings, the Lady Rebels remained at No. 5, a point shy of No. 4 Duke. The top 10 stayed the same with Florida leading the way. Georgia is ranked No. 3. Ole Miss has posted eight wins over teams in the top 20 including two in the top five.
The Lady Rebels are preparing to host an NCAA Women's Regional this Saturday and Sunday. The Lady Rebels meet Alabama State Saturday at 8:00 a.m., while Washington and North Carolina will play at 2:30 p.m. after the men's regional final. The women's regional final will be played at 1:00 p.m. Sunday.
