OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss women's basketball team had a 19-point lead with 11:40 to go in the game, but Alabama's Tequilla Allen took over scoring 16 points in the final 10 minutes as the Crimson Tide stormed back to defeat the Lady Rebels 69-67. Ole Miss falls to 11-5 overall and 0-3 in the league.

Allen scored 18 of her 21 points in the second half to lead the comeback. She also had nine points and four steals including two in the Tide's run.

"I think their run was a combination of many things," Aldy said. "Alabama took over the tempo, whether through loose balls, missed free throws or turnovers. It wasn't just a lack of offense on our part. I thought Frankie got us off to a great start. Tonight she was very competitive. Frankie did her job on the defensive end."

Ole Miss got off to a 16-6 lead on the play of Boyd and Chandra Dorsey, but Alabama used a 10-4 run to get within two (20-18) with 5:53 left in the first half. Two three-pointers from Dorsey and a layup by Boyd gave Ole Miss a nine point lead (33-24) at halftime.

The Lady Rebels came out firing at the start of the second half and built a 19-point lead with 11:50 to go, outscoring Alabama 20-12. That's when Allen took over. Allen's three and a layup with 3:41 left in the game cut the lead to 58-55.

Becky Myatt sank two free throws to give Ole Miss a 60-55 advantage, but a layup by Shondra Johnson and a three from Nicole Carruth tied the game at 60-60. Lady Rebel Von Kirk hit a jumper to give Ole Miss a 62-60 lead, and then Boo Barnes tied it again with a layup.

After an Ole Miss turnover, Barnes got fouled, and made the first one to give Alabama its first lead of the game. She missed the second one, but the Tide's Joni Crenshaw was there for the rebound and put it back in the hole to give Alabama a three-point lead, 65-62 with 1:19 remaining.

The Crimson Tide held a four-point lead with 22 seconds left in the game, when Kirk was fouled behind the three-point line. She sank all three free throws to bring the Lady Rebels to within 68-67. Allen missed the first of two free throws, but Ole Miss couldn't convert on the offensive end and Alabama hung on for the win.

Boyd led Ole Miss with her fourth career double-double of 27 points and 11 rebounds. Her 27 points ties a career-high. Myatt added 11 points and seven rebounds, while Dorsey finished with 10 points and a career-best six assists.

The Lady Rebels will travel to Baton Rouge, La., this Sunday to take on the LSU Lady Tigers in a 2:00 p.m. contest.
