Lady Rebels Completely Dominate West Alabama, 95-45

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss women's basketball team ran its record to 3-0 with a 95-45 win over the University of West Alabama Tigers, Tuesday. This marks the first time since 1994-95 that the Lady Rebels have started a season 3-0.
"We missed too many easy shots tonight," Lady Rebel head coach Ron Aldy said.. "We shot better in the second half. We got to the free throw line a lot and shot pretty well from there. Our free throw shooting is a marked improvement from last year."
Tywanna Inmon, a freshman from West Memphis, Ark., scored her first career double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds to lead all scorers. Tenisha Gist scored 12 points, Sherika Wright chipped in 11 points and Chandra Dorsey added 10 in the win.
"We tried to play the players an equal amount of time because we do not get many opportunities to do that," Aldy said. "Everyone has worked hard in practice so it was nice for them to get rewarded tonight."
The Lady Rebels shot 40 percent from the field on 14-of-39 shooting. They out-rebounded the Tigers 54-43. Ole Miss was 24-33 from the charity stripe.
Ole Miss led at the half 42-18 and outscored the Tigers 57-23 in the second half. The 50-point margin of victory ties for the ninth widest margin of victory in the history of the program. West Alabama was led by Jamie Bender with 12 points. Kim Cooper chipped in eight points in the Tigers effort.
The Lady Rebels will be back in action on Nov. 28, when they travel to Little Rock, Ark., to take on Arkansas-Little Rock. Game time is 7:00 p.m. Ole Miss will be back at home on Dec. 1, when they host Southeastern Louisiana.
