NASHVILLE, Tenn. - After trailing by 13 points at halftime, the Ole Miss Lady Rebels pulled to within four points with 3:48 remaining in the second half before allowing Vanderbilt to go on an 11-0 run to close out the game and defeat Ole Miss 79-64 on Sunday afternoon.

The loss drops Ole Miss to 11-2 overall and 0-1 in SEC play, while Vanderbilt improves to 12-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
"It is a shame to play so hard and tough and still come out of this with a loss," said Ole Miss head coach Ron Aldy. "We never quit and displayed a lot of heart and character."
The Lady Rebels shot 37.3 percent from the field, including 45 percent from the three-point line. They made 11-of-17 free throws and had nine assists and seven turnovers.
Kirk finished the game with 15 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field. Madewell scored 12 of her 14 points from the three-point line as she made 4-of-6 from behind the arc. Wright had five assists to go with her 10 points and Becky Myatt added 11 points and four rebounds for Ole Miss.

"I was really proud of our effort today," said Aldy. "If we play like that every time out, we will win some games in this league."
Ole Miss will return to action Thursday, January 11, when they host Mississippi State at 7 p.m. at Tad Smith Coliseum.
