Rebels Finish Fourth In Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, Ala.-- After finishing the second round of the 2001 Alabama Spring Invitational in sixth place on Saturday, the Ole Miss men's golf team finished in a tie for fourth place on Sunday. This was the Rebel's eighth top-five finish of the season.
The Rebels fired a three-round total of 901 to tie with UAB for fourth place. College of Charleston took the tournament championship with a 54-hole total of 889.
Ole Miss' Troy Muller claimed his fourth top-five finish of the season, placing fourth individually at the tournament. The senior from Braithwaite, La., had a three-day total of 76-74- 69?219. Tommy Clement, a native of Mobile, Ala., tied for 22nd place with a 74-76-77=213. J.J. Thompson tied for 29th place with a 79-70-81?230. Andrew Medley fired a 76-74-82=232 to tie for 34th place. Phil Caravia finished tied for 40th place with a 79-80-75=234.
The Rebels will be back in action on April 6-8, when they travel to Opelika, Ala., to play in the 2001 Billy Hitchcock Intercollegiate, hosted by Auburn University.
