OLE MISS CLIMBS IN NATIONAL POLLS: Following a 3-1 week that included a three-game SEC sweep of Alabama, Ole Miss climbed in all three of this week's major college baseball polls. The Rebels are ranked as high as No. 16 in Collegiate Baseball's Top 30, up three spots from the previous week, and climbed as much as seven spots in the Baseball Weekly/ESPN Coaches Top 25 from No. 24 to No. 17. Ole Miss also jumped two spots in Baseball America's Top 25 from No. 21 to No. 19.

LAST TIME OUT: No. 20 Georgia scored six runs in the first inning to jump out to a 7-2 lead after two innings en route to a 10-6 win over No. 16 Ole Miss Saturday afternoon in front of a season-high 3,071 at Oxford-University Stadium/Swayze Field. The loss snapped the Rebels' seven-game SEC win streak. Six different Georgia players recorded two hits as the Bulldogs out-hit Ole Miss 14-8. After the Rebels plated three runs in the third, Jeffery Carswell (6-0) came on to pitch a career-long 6 2/3 innings of relief, allowing one run on three hits and one walk to earn the win. He also fanned six. Ole Miss starter Mike Gray (2-1) faced just five batters before being relieved in taking the loss. Clint Farrar went 2x5 at the plate, including hitting his first HR of the season with a solo shot in the seventh to provide the 10-6 margin.

SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS: Georgia enters today's game with an 19-8 record, including 7-4 in the SEC. The Bulldogs are ranked No. 20 by Baseball America, No. 23 in the Baseball Weekly/ESPN Coaches Top 25, and No. 26 by Collegiate Baseball. Georgia is hitting .314 (304x969) as a team. Junior SS Jeff Keppinger leads the team in hitting with a .422 (43x102) average and also has team-high 28 RBI. Keppinger, senior Andy Neufeld and junior Doc Brooks have hit a team-high five HRs. Bulldog pitchers have a team ERA of 4.12 (247.0 IP, 113 ER), and opponents are hitting .265 (261x986) against them with 21 HRs.

SERIES INFO: Today's meeting is the 42nd all-time between Ole Miss and Georgia ... Georgia leads the series 22-19 ... the Rebels have won three of the last four SEC series dating back to 1995 ... the Bulldogs won last year's series 2-1 in Athens ... Ole Miss has never swept a three-game series from Georgia, however, the Rebels did win both games of a rain-shortened series in Athens in 1998 ... Georgia has the only three-game sweep in the series, that coming in 1989 in Oxford ... Ole Miss is 10-9 all-time against Georgia in Oxford, and 7-11 in Athens ... There are four games in 1929 and 1930 that the site can not be determined, and the two teams split those games.

MANUFACTURING RUNS: One of the keys to Ole Miss' success this season has been its ability to manufacture runs. The Rebels enter today's game with 18 sacrifice bunts, 11 more than their last year's total of seven in 55 games. Ole Miss has moved 23 runners into scoring position with those 18 sac bunts, eventually scoring 15 (65.2 percent). The Rebels' 18 sac bunts ranked second in the SEC entering yesterday's action.

AFTER 31 GAMES LAST YEAR: Ole Miss was 18-13 after 31 games last season ... The Rebels had a .291 batting average (322x 1,108) with 25 HRs, 169 RBI, 56 doubles and five triples ... Ole Miss had outscored its opponents 185-164 ... The Rebels stole 33-of-46 bases and had hit into 19 double plays ... Ole Miss pitchers had a 4.57 ERA (273.2 IP, 139 ER), allowing 268 hits, including 20 HRs, walked 116 and struck out 202 ... The Rebels had committed 44 errors and turned 24 double plays.
