Hartman's Run At NCAA Championships Ends

OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss men's tennis player Alex Hartman's run in the NCAA Singles Championship came to an end Saturday morning with a loss in the round of 16 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
Hartman, after winning four consecutive matches in straight sets, lost in two sets to Steve Berke of Yale, 6-3, 6-1. It marked Berke's second straight win over a seeded player. He also defeated the No. 5 seed in the second round, before playing Hartman.
Hartman ends the year with a 28-15 overall record. The sophomore from Klippan, Sweden has enjoyed an outstanding year, earning All-America and All-SEC honors. He will likely be ranked in the top 20, when the final rankings are released next week.
This was Hartman's second appearance in the NCAA Championships. He became the 16th All-American in the history of the program.
