TRIPLE PLAY
A season ago, the threes were the key for Ole Miss as the Lady Rebels connected 179 triples, compared to 135 for their opponents. So far in 2003-04, the threes are the key, but in the opposite manner. Ole Miss has made only 40 three pointers, compared to 61 for their opponents, while attempting 40 less threes than their opponents. In three-of-the-four Lady Rebel losses this season, the opponent has made more three-point baskets than Ole Miss.

PRICE NABS HONORS
Lady Rebel freshman Armintie Price has already earned two honors during her short career. First, Price was named to the five-member All-Tournament team at the Lady Tiger Classic after posting double-doubles in games against Nebraska and Memphis. She was then named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week on Monday, Dec. 1. Price was the 10th Lady Rebel to earn SEC Player of the Week honors and the first since Becky Myatt was earned the honor on Nov. 20, 2000. Price currently ranks 10th in the SEC in points per game (15.3) and second in rebounding (11.1).

LADY REBELS CRY FOUL
In Ole Miss' four losses this season, the Lady Rebels have been whistled for 20 more fouls than their opponents, as they have committed 95 fouls in the four setbacks, compared to 75 for the opposing teams. By committing 20 more fouls in the losses, there is a direct correlation that their opponents in the four losses have gone to the charity stripe a whopping 34 more times.

BACKCOURT BLAST
Guard play has been a strong area for Ole Miss through the first nine games of the 2003-04 season. Ole Miss' top three scorers are formed by the starting backcourt and small forward. Armintie Price (15.3) leads the way with Genice Terry (13.3) and Carletta Brown (10.7) not far behind. Price, Terry and Brown combined for 56 of Ole Miss' 89 points in Tuesday's win over Birmingham Southern, including a career-high 23 points from Terry. Price also leads the team in rebounding (11.1), while Terry leads the team in steals (3.0) and Brown leads UM in assists (4.3).

BEST FOOT FORWARD
Lady Rebel head coach Carol Ross will be looking to get out of the gates with a good record in her first season at the helm of the Ole Miss program. Ross, who was 17-11 in her first season as Florida women's basketball head coach, will be looking to join the good company of former Lady Rebel coaches with solid first-year records Pam Davidson, Lin Dunn, Van Chancellor and Ron Aldy, posted a combined first-year record of 82-41 (66.7 winning percentage). The following is a list of previous Ole Miss women's basketball head coaches and their first year records:
Coach (Year) Record (Pct.)
Pam Davidson (1974-75) 14-8 (63.6)
Lin Dunn (1977-78) 25-15 (62.5)
Van Chancellor (1978-79) 31-9 (77.5)
Ron Aldy (1997-98) 12-19 (38.7)
Carol Ross (2003-04) 5-4 (55.5)

DROPPING DIMES
Ole Miss junior point guard Carletta Brown is well on her way to having her most productive season to date in the assists category. Brown, who has started 46-of-65 career games, has tallied 39 assists in just nine games this season, and ranks fifth in the SEC in assists per game. Brown recorded a team-high 80 assists as a sophomore and is currently on pace to dish 135 assists this season, nearly doubling her output from a season ago.

PRICE DOUBLES HER PLEASURE
Freshman forward Armintie Price has exploded on to the college basketball scene. Price posted her first double-double of her career in just her third collegiate game with 21 points and 13 rebounds against Belmont. She then posted double-doubles in both games of the Lady Tiger Thanksgiving Classic with 18 points and 16 rebounds against Nebraska and 22 points and 15 boards against Memphis. Price averaged 20.3 points and 14.7 rebounds during the week of Nov. 25-Dec. 1, and was named to the Lady Tiger Thanksgiving Classic All-Tournament team. She was not done with the double-doubles there though, as she added a 18-point, 13-rebound performance against McNeese State on Monday. Price did all that work in just 23 minutes of action. Price recorded her fifth double-double of the season in Ole Miss' win over Birmingham Southern with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

TERRIFIC TERRY
Ole Miss senior Genice Terry is having a senior year to remember. Terry is second on the team in scoring with 13.3 points per game. She is also averaging a career-high 4.1 rebounds per game and a team-leading 3.0 steals per game, which ranks fourth in the SEC. Terry, who has played for four different coaches in her four collegiate seasons, posted career-highs in scoring (23) and three-point baskets (5) in the Lady Rebels' last win over Birmingham Southern. Terry also posted career highs in assists (4) and steals (7) in the season-opener against Jackson State.

MINCY ON THE MEND
Freshman forward Jada Mincy will likely spend her freshman season as a redshirt. Mincy, a 6-1 Memphis, Tenn., native, had surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee in October. Mincy, who rehabs daily with athletic trainer Heather Landry, was the 2003 Tennessee Division 2 Miss Basketball, while at Briarcrest Christian.

OLE MISS FINISHES SECOND AT LADY TIGER CLASSIC
Ole Miss defeated Nebraska, 69-66, and then came up short in the championship game against the host Memphis as they fell, 69-63, in the title game. Freshman forward Armintie Price was named to the Lady Tiger Classic All-Tournament team with her tournament averages of 20.0 points and 15.5 rebounds. Senior guard Genice Terry also came up big for Ole Miss as she posted tournament averages of 12.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.5 steals per game.

OLE MISS OPENS 2003-04 WITH WIN OVER JACKSON STATE
Ole Miss opened the season and Preseason WNIT with a 83-58 win over Jackson State. The Lady Rebels had three players in double figures, led by junior Carletta Brown with 15 points and four assists.
