Lady Rebels Finish Tenth At Suntrust Lady Gator Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. - The Ole Miss women's golf team battled through tough first and third rounds, but used a strong second round performance to finish in the top-10 at the Suntrust Lady Gator Invitational on Thursday with a score of 317-288-320-925.
In a tournament of ups and downs, the Lady Rebels were able to hit some high points for the week, including the lowest round in program history by and individual (67) and the third lowest round for the team in the history of the program (288). Both were accomplished in the second round of play.
After tearing through the first two rounds, senior Bernadette Luse battled through the third and final round. The team captain finished highest for the Lady Rebels, tying for the No. 34 spot in the standings with a score of 76-71-82-229.
Nikki Hadd turned in a record setting day for Ole Miss on the first day of competition, but finished tied for the No. 44 spot in the overall standings with a score of 84-67-82-233. The 67 fired in the second round is the lowest score in Ole Miss history.
Senior Kerrie Davis also finished the event tied with Hadd at the No. 44 spot in the standings with a score of 81-73-79-233.
Freshmen Laura Evans and Sarah Kate Cousart rounded out the scoring for Ole Miss. Evans took a tie for the No. 62 spot overall with her score of 82-77-78-237, while Cousart carded a 78-86-81-245 to tie for the No. 78 spot in the standings.
Senior Roiann Boisture competed in the tournament as an individual, finishing in the NO. 87 spot in the standings with a score of 85-85-89-258.
The Lady Rebels will remain in Florida this week in preparation for the next tournament on the schedule. Ole Miss will play in the Waterlefe Invitational, hosted by the University of South Florida. The tournament will be held March 17-18 in Tampa, Fla.
