Ole Miss Women's Basketball To Host Grambling State

Ole Miss is will be looking to pick up their second-straight home win when they play host to Grambling State on Thursday, Dec. 16. Game time is slated for 7 p.m., at Tad Smith Coliseum.

The Lady Rebels are 5-3 under the direction of second-year head coach Carol Ross. Ross, who played at Ole Miss from 1979-82, earned SEC Co-Coach of the Year honors in 2004 after guiding Ole Miss back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in eight seasons.

The Lady Rebels welcomed back senior center Amber Terrell in their 89-41 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Tuesday. Terrell, who missed the first seven games of the season due to academic reasons, was impressive in her debut as she nearly missed a double-double with 18 points and nine rebounds.

Grambling State enters Thursday's contest with a 2-3 record. The Tigers opened the season with wins over Paul Quinn College and Bethune Cookman, before taking three-straight losses to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Auburn and Georgia Tech.

The Tigers are led by Juleen Smith, who pours in 23.0 points per game. Dominique Headd (11.2) and Lacey Cormier' (10.8) are also averaging double-digits for GSU. Cormier' lead the team on the boards with 12.4 per game.

Grambling State head coach David "Rusty" Ponton is 144-67 in seven years with the Tigers. His overall coaching record is the same.
