DALLAS -- - Former Ole Miss men's tennis All-American Sebastien DeChaunac won the ATP Challenger in Dallas this past weekend, defeating a member of last year's NCAA Champion Illinois team, in the final.

DeChaunac defeated Amer Delic, who won the 2003 NCAA singles title, 6-4, 7-6(3). With the win, DeChaunac moved up to No. 160 in this week's ATP Rankings.

"We are very proud of Sebastien for winning this event," Rebel head coach Billy Chadwick said. "He is off to a great start in 2004 with his qualifying for the Australian Open Main Draw prior to winning this event . Sebastien has worked extremely hard during the last year to get to this point, as he attempts to reach his goal of making the top 100 in the rankings."

While at Ole Miss, DeChaunac led the Rebels to the SEC Championship and the 1997 NCAA Final Four. He was ranked No. 1 in the nation in singles during his career and was an Academic All-American.
