Box Score

OXFORD, Miss. (AP) - Shyra Ely and Shanna Zolman each scored 21 points and led a decisive second-half run that gave No. 3 Tennessee an 85-69 victory over Ole Miss on Sunday.

The Lady Vols (22-2, 12-0), who remained unbeaten in the Southeastern Conference and on the road (12-0), trailed for most of the first 28 minutes.

Freshman Armintie Price scored 32 points on 14-of-17 shooting for the Lady Rebels (15-11, 6-6), who led by as many as 12 points in the first half.

"You have to give Tennessee credit," said Ole Miss head coach Carol Ross. "They continue to find ways to win. We set the tone in the first half, but they became the aggressor in the second half and that was the ball game in terms of who wins and who loses."

The Lady Rebels have lost three straight games, all to ranked opponents, and seven in a row to Tennessee. Ole Miss last beat Tennessee in 1996.

Price made a jumper with 6 minutes left in the first half to give Ole Miss a 33-21 lead.

Ole Miss shot 68 percent from the field in the first half and were up by six at halftime. The Lady Rebels led 50-46 when Price made two free throws with 13:36 left.

Then Tennessee took over.

A jumper by Ely started the Lady Vols on a 19-6 run. Zolman broke a 50-all tie and put Tennessee ahead to stay when she scored on a layup and was fouled by Carletta Brown with 11:39 left. Zolman made the free throw to put the Lady Vols up 53-50.

Zolman hit a 3-pointer to make it 58-52 and Ely's jumper with 5:13 left capped the run and made it 75-56.

Ole Miss only connected on 8-of-30 shots from the field in the second half, including missing all 13 attempts from three-point range. They were also out done on the boards as Tennessee claimed a 41-31 edge on the glass.

Price finished the game with a career-high 32 points to lead all scorers. The 32 points tie for the most points scored by an individual against the Lady Vols this season, matching Nicole Powell of Stanford.

The 5-9 freshman made 14-of-17 shots from the field and was also credited with four rebounds, two assists and two steals.

"Armintie Price is so quick and tough off the dribble," said Tennessee head coach Pat Summitt. "She finishes in traffic unlike most. She is great athlete and one of the best freshman in the league."

Senior guard Genice Terry was the only other Lady Rebel in double figures with 10 points. Junior center Amber Watts finished with seven points and team-leading five rebounds. Brown led Ole Miss with five assists.

Ely and Zolman combined to shoot 17-for-30 for the game, while the rest of the Lady Vols were 14-for-40.

Tasha Butts and Sidney Spencer each scored 13 points for Tennessee.

Ole Miss will return to action on Thursday, Feb. 26, when they travel to Baton Rouge, La., to take on the LSU Tigers. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
