BRISTOL, Conn. - Ole Miss junior guard Armintie Price is currently featured on www.ESPN.com on the women's college basketball page. Price is listed as the top two-guard in the NCAA as noted by the website's women's college basketball analysts.
Mechelle Voepel, Nancy Lieberman, Beth Mowins and Melanie Jackson compiled a list of the top five players at each position, ranking Price the top player at the two-guard spot. She is followed on the list by sophomore Matee Ajavon (Rutgers), senior Lindsey Bowen (Michigan State), junior Shay Doron (Maryland) and junior Noelle Quinn (UCLA).
Price is also listed on the website as a candidate for preseason All-America honors. Visitors to the website are encouraged to vote for their picks for their top five picks. Ole Miss fans can vote for Price at ESPN All-America voting.
Price and her Ole Miss teammates will play host to Athletes In Action on Thursday, Nov. 10 in their lone exhibition contest of the 2005-06 season. Ole Miss will open regular-season play on Friday, Nov. 18, when they play host to the Rice Owls, the 2005 Western Athletic Conference Co-Champions. The Owls, who lost to Georgia in the first round of the 2005 NCAA Tournament, return three starters and 12 letterwinners from last season.
Tickets prices for Ole Miss women's basketball games are as follows: reserved seating $7, general admission $5, student tickets are free with a valid student identification. Fans will receive complimentary admission to the season-opener versus Rice with their football game ticket for the Ole Miss-LSU game. The first 250 fans at the game will receive an "It's Time For Lady Rebel Basketball" souvenir desk clock courtesy of Coca-Cola.
