OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss rising juniors Alex Presley and Chris Coghlan have been having outstanding summers in the Cape Cod Baseball League. The duo are teammates on the Chatham A's and have led the team to a 24-13-1 record, which ranks second in the league.

Presley is batting a league best .366 with 10 RBI and was recently named the league's Player of the Week on July 24. Coghlan has the third best batting average in the league at .340 with two home runs and 18 RBI.

Presley and Coghlan were both selected for the 43rd Annual Cape League All-Star Game, which was played on Saturday, July 30 in Hyannis. Presley, playing right field, and Coghlan, playing third base, suited up for the Eastern Division team. The Eastern Division defeated the Western Division 1-0 in the game.

The 2005 Cape League All-Stars and field managers will be honored in a special pre-game ceremony Tuesday, August 2, at Fenway Park, before the Boston Red Sox-Kansas City Royals baseball game. Presley and Coghlan will be introduced to the crowd before the game, as each CCBL All-Star will be introduced and his name will appear on the electronic scoreboard prior to first pitch.

"Obviously, both Alex and Chris are having great summers in the Cape Cod League," said Ole Miss Baseball head coach Mike Bianco. "It is exciting news for Ole Miss Baseball to hear how well they are playing. These are two guys we are going to be depending on a lot next season, so finding out about how they are raising their game to the next level is outstanding to hear."

The Rebels went 48-20 last season, winning a share of the SEC Western Division title and playing host to its first-ever NCAA Super Regional.
