Rebel Golfers Take Fourth In Rain-Shortened Squire Creek

RUSTON, La. Led by sophomore Will Roebuck, the Ole Miss men’s golf team fired a 1-under 287 to finish fourth at the rain-shortened Squire Creek Intercollegiate Tuesday.

Due to torrential rains on Monday, the tournament was shortened from 54 holes to 18 holes of play on Tuesday.

Roebuck shot a 2-under 70 to finish tied for sixth and earn his fourth career top 10 finish and second this season.    Senior Brice Bailey and sophomore Larry Blatt each carded an even-par 72 to earn a tie for 15^th.  Chris Rogers posted a 73 and tied for 25^th.  Callum Macaulay rounded out the scoring with a 75.

Sam Houston State took home the team title with a 281.  Southeastern Louisiana and Tennessee-Chattanooga tied for second at 286.  The Rebels bested the only other SEC team in the field, as Mississippi State finished tied for 10^th with a 300.  South Alabama’s Johnny Caldwell turned in a 5-under 67 to earn medalist honors.

Ole Miss is right back in action this weekend as they head to Nashville, Tenn., for the Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate, Oct. 22-24.
