Rebel Golfers In Tie For First At Mason Rudolph
10/22/2006 | Men's Golf
The Rebels boast three players in the top 10, led by Brice Bailey, who shot a first round 71 and is tied for third. He is currently three back of the leader, UT-Chattanooga’s Mitchell Brock. Bailey was 2-over heading into the back nine, but rebounded to shoot 3-under to finish at 1-under for the day.
Senior Callum Macaulay fired a even-par 72 and stands in a tie for seventh. Sophomore Will Roebuck turned in a 73 to tie for 10th, and senior Chris Rogers posted a 74 and is tied for 17th.
“Our team played well today in cold, windy conditions,” head coach Ernest Ross said. “It is great to finally get off to a good start in a tournament this fall. We are excited about being tied for the lead and look forward to competing for the title.”
Larry Blatt had a 77 to round out the Ole Miss scoring, while Clark Brewer, competing as an individual, carded a 73.
The second round of 18 holes will be played Monday with the Rebels teeing off beginning at 9:30 a.m.
