Cozart Named First Team All-America By NCBWA In Preseason

Cozart returns to help lead Ole Miss as he finished the 2006 season second on the team in batting with a .338 average and helped lead the Rebels to the second-most wins in a single season a second-straight Super Regional.
“We are very proud of Zack for receiving this honor,” said Ole Miss head coach Mike Bianco. “It’s certainly something he deserves and has earned with his performance on the field. We could not be more proud of him.”

Cozart finished the year with a .975 fielding percentage as he only committed eight errors on the season. The sophomore drove in 64 runs, the second highest on the team for the season, as he tallied 10 home runs one triple and 16 doubles. Cozart is one of six Southeastern Conference players named to the NCBWA First Team including: Kentucky catcher Kevin Coughlin, Vanderbilt third baseman Pedro Alvarez, Alabama outfielder Emeel Salem, Arkansas starter Nick Schmidt and Georgia closer Josh Fields.
