Lady Rebels Host Arkansas On Senior Day

The Lady Rebels (14-12, 4-9) are looking to get back in the win column when they host Arkansas on Sunday. Ole Miss, who dropped back-to-back road games last week, will tip off against the Lady Razorbacks (13-13, 5-8) at 2 p.m. (CT), in Tad Smith Coliseum.
Ole Miss is led on the season by junior guard Armintie Price with 16.5 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. Price is one of two players in the SEC averaging a double-double on the season, along with sophomore center Sylvia Fowles of LSU. Both players posted 20-20 plus performances in games played this season.
Sophomore forward Carla Bartee has been Ole Miss' top player off the bench with 9.1 points and 3.7 rebounds per outing, although she has started four games on the season. Bartee has led Ole Miss in scoring in three of the last five games and is averaging 14.6 points per game during that period.
Junior guard Ashley Awkward reclaimed her starting spot at the point in Ole Miss' outing versus Alabama. Awkward responded by tying a career-high with 18 points. She made 6-of-8 free throws in the final minutes to seal the win for Ole Miss.
Freshman center Shawn Goff has been coming on strong as of late. Goff had a career game against Alabama pulling down 13 rebounds, eight on the offensive end, and scoring eight points to go along with three steals and three blocks.
Senior guard Ashley Johnson is Ole Miss' other player in double figures with 10.6 per game. Johnson led Ole Miss against Kentucky on Thursday with 22 points, tying a season-high. Johnson made 9-of-12 shots from the field against UK, including going 4-of-5 from beyond the arc.
Under the direction of third-year head coach Carol Ross, the Lady Rebels are 50-36. Ross, who played at Ole Miss from 1979-82, earned SEC Co-Coach of the Year honors in 2004 after guiding Ole Miss back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in eight seasons. Ross' Lady Rebels returned to the NCAA Tournament in 2004-05, falling to George Washington in the first round of play.
Arkansas enters Sunday's game with a 13-13 overall mark and an 5-8 record in SEC games. The Lady `Backs have dropped seven-straight games after opening SEC play with a 5-1 mark.
Junior Kristin Peoples leads the team in scoring with 11.9 points per game, although she has missed the last seven games with an injury. Junior Leslie Howard ranks second in scoring with 10.9 points per game, while senior Rochelle Vaughn drops in 9.3 per outing.
Senior Kristin Moore is the team leader in rebounding with 5.1, while fellow senior Melissa Hobbs pulls down 5.0 per game. Sophomore Brittany Vaughn is the assist leader with 109. She also leads in steals with 41.
Arkansas head coach Susie Gardner is 46-39 in her third season with the Lady Razorbacks. Gardner is 158-131 in her 10th season overall.
