BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Seimone Augustus scored 22 points and Sylvia Fowles had 21 points and 13 rebounds, leading third-ranked LSU to a 78-63 victory over Mississippi on Sunday.
Augustus made 10 of her 18 field-goal attempts and grabbed eight rebounds to help the Tigers (20-1, 8-0) remain undefeated in the Southeastern Conference. Fowles was 7-for-11 from the field and recorded her 14th double-double of the season.
Erica White had 11 points and five assists for the Lady Tigers, who have won 28 straight at home and 22 consecutive SEC games.
The 15-point margin of defeat was the largest of the season for the Lady Rebels (12-10, 2-7). But the margin was the smallest in the Lady Tigers' 12 victories at home this season.
Reserve Carla Bartee led Ole Miss with 17 points, including four 3-pointers. Armintie Price had 15, while Jada Mincy and Ashley Johnson each had 10.
LSU trailed 16-10 before going on a spurt that eventually put the Lady Tigers ahead by 19 points.
Ole Miss opened the game in a triangle-and-two defense with Price guarding Augustus and Danetra Forrest guarding Fowles. When the Lady Rebels rested Price and Forrest, LSU gained momentum.
A basket by Florence Williams and a 3-pointer by Scholanda Hoston began a 30-5 run that put the Lady Tigers ahead 40-21. A field goal by Augustus gave LSU a 17-16 advantage with 10:16 left in the first half. Four more points by Augustus put the Lady Tigers on top 21-16.
The Lady Rebels scored the final four points of the half to pull within 40-25. After making just three of its first 10 shots, LSU sank 12 of its last 18 shots of the half. Meanwhile, Ole Miss missed 14 of its last 18 shots before halftime.
