Former SEC Champion Chip Sullivan Wins PGA Professional Championship

SUNRIVER, Ore. Former Ole Miss men’s golfer Chip Sullivan of Troutville,
Sullivan had five birdies and four bogeys for a final round 2-under 70 on the Crosswater Gold Club course, giving him a 6-under 281 total at Sunriver Resort.
The low 20 scores earned a berth at the 89th PGA Championship at Southern Hills Country Club in
Sullivan, who finished tied for 16th at last year’s PGA Professional, played in the 2006 PGA Championship, but missed the cut.
Since turning professional in 1987, Sullivan has won more than 80 PGA-sanctioned events.
As a standout for the Rebels, Sullivan’s accomplishments included winning the 1986 SEC individual title, beating among others in the field, 2001 PGA Championship winner David Toms. Sullivan earned All-SEC first team honors in 1986, and was a member of the 1984 SEC Champion Team.
