OXFORD, Miss. Johnny DelPrete of Palm City, Fla., and Nick Mullhaupt of Bradenton, Fla., have transferred from the University of Louisville to Ole Miss, Rebel head coach Ernest Ross announced Thursday.  Both freshmen are immediately eligible.

DelPrete owns two top-five and four top-10 American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) finishes.  The former Florida State Boys Champion also owns five top-five performances on the Future Collegians World Tour (FCWT).

Mullhaupt joins his brother Chris, who began his career with the Rebels last fall.  Nick was one of the top-rated players in the state of Florida coming out of high school.  He won the Press Thornton Future Masters with a 69-68-68, tied for 14th at the Dixie Amateur with scores of 69-72-71-74 and was 10th at the St. Augustine Amateur.   He also owns several top10’s at AJGA events, including a seventh-place showing at the Las Vegas Founder’s Junior Tournament where he shot a final round 64.   In addition, Nick also posted four top 10’s in FCWT competition.

“Nick Mullhaupt and Johnny DelPrete will be tremendous additions to the Ole Miss Golf program,” Ross said.  “I expect both to make immediate contributions this spring.  Both players were highly recruited out of high school.  I liked what I saw in them when they were in junior tournaments, and we are glad to have them playing on our team.”

The Rebels, winners of three straight tournaments to conclude the fall, open the spring season Feb. 9-10 at the Gator Invitational in Gainesville, Fla.
