NASHVILLE, Tenn. Vanderbilt outscored Ole Miss 40-12 in the first half and never let the lead diminish lower than 27 points en route to an 83-50 victory over the Lady Rebels Sunday afternoon at Memorial Gymnasium.

Vanderbilt (14-6, 3-2 SEC) was led on the offensive end by junior guard Jennifer Risper as she scored a career-high 20 points to go along with 10 rebounds for the game’s only double-double.  Sophomore guard Jessica Mooney added 12 points and six assists as the only other Commodore in double figures.

Lady Rebel sophomore guard Shantell Black paced Ole Miss on the offensive end as she finished the contest with 13 points, three assists and three steals.  Junior center Shawn Goff followed in double figures with 10 points, five rebounds and a game-high four blocked shots.  Senior forward Danetra Forrest tallied a team-high nine rebounds to tie her season-high output this season.

Ole Miss (8-10, 2-3 SEC) held Vanderbilt to just two points over the first 4:23 of the game, but the Commodores closed the first half on a 38-9 run, which included holding the Lady Rebels to without a point for a span of just under nine minutes.

Ole Miss returns to action Thursday evening at 7 p.m. when the Lady Rebels welcome second-ranked Tennessee to Tad Smith Coliseum.
