10/6/2008 | Men's Golf
Not a single a team shot even or under par for the day at the Par 72, 7,334-yard course. Senior Stefan Strandlund fired a 73-72145 and is tied for fifth to lead the Rebel team scoring. Freshman Joe David carded a 75-78153, junior Will Roebuck finished with a 76-77153, senior Jesse Speirs turned in a 75-78153 and sophomore Jonathan Randolph had an 80-75155. “Sean Dale, who is tied for second, and Stefan Strandlund, played very well,” head coach Ernest Ross said. I am proud of them. The rest of the team struggled. Some struggled with the putter, and some with control of the driver. I am a little bit surprised. We’ve been preparing hard, and we looked good in practice the day before. We’re going to go out in the morning and try to salvage some pride.” With the impending threat of rain, Tuesday’s final round will be a shotgun start beginning at 8 a.m.
