10/7/2008 | Men's Golf

MEMPHIS, Tenn. The final round of the Memphis Intercollegiate was rained out at the Colonial Country Club Tuesday, leaving the 13th-ranked Ole Miss men’s golf team in a tie for eighth place.

Freshman Sean Dale earned his first ever top five finish, tying for second with a 71-73--144, while competing as an individual.  Senior Stefan Strandlund led the Rebel scoring, carding a 73-72145 to tie for fifth, his first career top five showing.

“We are disappointed with our finish, but we’ll go back to work and try to correct some things before our next tournament,” head coach Ernest Ross said. “We are pleased with Sean and Stefan, who both had very good tournaments.”

The Rebels will look to rebound at the Squire Creek Invitational Oct. 13-14 in Ruston, La., as they try to defend their title.
