GIRONA, Spain Former Ole Miss golfer Callum Macaulay realized a life long dream Tuesday, as he secured his card for the 2009 European Tour on the first try, closing out a successful six days at the PGA Golf de Catalunya course. Macaulay carded an 8-under 71-67-72-69-71-72422 to finish tied for 20th in the final stage.

Speaking after today’s deciding 18 holes Macaulay said, “I’m ecstatic about my performance this week. To qualify to play on the European Tour is a dream come true.

“I asked him if I should stay on as an amateur to play in the Walker Cup,” Macaulay said.” “He said he didn’t think it was worth it just for that alone. His advice was that it was best to go to the Tour school and give it my best shot, and that if it didn’t work out at least I’d have the Walker Cup to fall back on.”
He doesn’t have to worry about that anymore. Macaulay will make his Tour debut in
