OXFORD, Miss. -- The No. 5 nationally ranked Ole Miss men’s tennis team rebounded from a disappointing loss to Florida on Friday, as they dominated South Carolina 4-0 Sunday afternoon at the Sam Daniel Tennis Facility.

With the win, the Rebels improved to 13-4 overall and 4-2 in league play, while South Carolina dropped to 8-8 and 0-6 in the SEC.   Two days after falling to second in the West, the Rebels are back on top, as Vanderbilt defeated Alabama 4-3 on Sunday.

Ole Miss took control in the middle of the doubles to gain the early momentum.  Matthias Wellermann and Kalle Norberg joined forces for an 8-4 victory at No. 3 over USC’s Thomas Stoddard and Johannes Pulsfort. Erling Tveit and Jonas Berg, ranked sixth in the most recent ITA doubles rankings, followed with an 8-6 win at No. 1 over Yevgeny Supeko and Pedro Campos to take the doubles point.

The Rebels continued to dominate in singles play, as Vorster defeated Carolina’s David Wolff at No. 6 in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1, and Berg collected a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Pulsfort at No. 4 to push Ole Miss’ lead to 3-0.  Senior Robbye Poole downed USC’s Campos at No. 3, 6-1, 6-2, to clinch the match for the Rebels.
