CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. The Ole Miss men’s golf team shot an even-par 287 in the final round of the NCAA East Regional Saturday, to finish with a total of 871 for 25th place at the Council Fire Golf Club.
Georgia lapped the field, shooting minus-41, 811 for 54 holes. The Bulldogs led second place Augusta State by 21 shots as the Jaguars shot 832 (-20).
Russell Henley led UGA with a -13 total of 200 to tie UAB’s Zac Sucher for medalist honors.
Freshman Jonathan Randolph led the Rebels, tying for 47th with a 73-68-73214. He was the lone Rebel to post a round under par in the tournament, with his second-round 68.
Ten teams and two individuals on non-advancing teams moved on to the NCAA Finals at Purdue May 28-31. The teams are Georgia, Augusta State, Cal-Irvine, Mississippi State, UAB, Auburn, Charlotte, East Tennessee State, Middle Tennessee and Virginia. The individuals qualifying for nationals were Georgia State’s Joel Sjoholm (-8) and Virginia Tech’s Jurrian van der Vaart (-7).
