Men's Golf Tied For Ninth At Gary Koch

TAMPA, Fla. -- The Ole Miss men's golf team shot a 285-285--570 on the first day of the Gary Koch Intercollegiate here at Old Memorial Saturday, and the Rebels are tied for ninth heading into the final round.
Junior Jonathan Randolph and sophomore Billy Brozovich are tied for 27th with a 142 to lead the Rebels. Randolph, who won last week's Mason Rudolph for his first career title, fired a 3-under 69 in the first round and was three back, but shot 73 in the second round. Brozovich opened with a 72 and then carded a 2-under 70 in the second round.
Freshman Chad Bounds finished with a 70-73--143, Tom Brown tallied a 74-70--144 and Joe David had a 74-72--146 to round out the team.
Texas Tech blistered the course in the first round with a tournament record 271 and followed with a 279 to take a four shot (550) lead over Florida State (554). Florida is in third at 560, Virginia holds fourth place at 561 and Augusta State and Georgia Southern are tied for fifth at 564. Seath Lauer of Florida State took the individual lead with a 66-67--133.
The Rebels begin the final round Sunday at 7:00 a.m. CT.
