MISSOURI HEAD COACH TIM JAMIESON

OPENING COMMENTS
"Congratulations to Western Kentucky, and my best to them and Ole Miss. Obviously we finished not where we want to be. Bottom line was we were not as good as our opponent. They outplayed us in both of the games we played against them. I'm proud of the effort this ball club has made. A month ago we had no chance to make the postseason and maybe not even get to the conference championship, but the guys fought hard and finished third in the Big 12 having to play more games on the road than at home in the Big 12. We were able to make it to the Big 12 championship and beat a national seed. Being a number two seed is just tribute to the players and what they chose to do from about two-thirds of the season on because they battled extrememly hard and I'm proud of them. At the end of the season we were a good baseball team, and I'm proud of how we got here and all the effort from my team."

On the team's pitching overall this season
"We didn't have a third starter. We pulled a rabbit out of the hat by using 9-10 guys in a weekend. To be able to finish third in the league says a lot about the depth of the staff, but not necessarily the quality of the staff. That is something we are going to have to address in the offseason. Right now we are losing a guy, and we don't have anyone stable to replace him. We just haven't had the quality that we have had, but we were still able to get to where we are. We took the pitching about as far as it can go."

On Western Kentucky's three-run home run
"I think we faced a very good team today. They had a plan and they were focused. They are very well coached and have a veteran group. The three-run home run sucked the air out of the sails with two outs and two strikes. 7-0 is a lot different than 4-0."

Junior DH Trevor Coleman

On Missouri's journey to the postseason
"I think what we went through earlier in the year, we bent but we didn't break. We withstood the challenges from the beginning of the year, and it has been a lot of fun to compete with those guys and go out there everyday and work hard. It's been a blast, and unfortunately it had to end like this. The struggles early in the year really brought us together, and we became more of a team. That is something I'm proud of as well as coach and the team."

On missed opportunitites against Western Kentucky
"I don't know how many guys we had that were left on base. I felt like we left a lot of guys out there in clutch situations and didn't get the job done. That was the difference in the game to me."

Junior OF Aaron Senne

On trying to comeback from being down 7-0
"I didn't think we had a lot of great at bats. We didn't get the big hit when we had two guys on. Despite that, we never quit playing and never gave up."

Junior OF Greg Folgia

On trying to comeback from being down 7-0
"It's kind of hard to bounce back from seven runs, but we stayed aggressive. We never really gave up at any point in the game, especially in the ninth, which was really impressive."
