Renee Ladner Postgame Quotes

Opening Statement...
"I'm really proud of this group of girls. We could have easily let this game get away from us, but we kept finding a way to get points on the board and getting stops. It tested us. Arkansas has a good basketball team. They're just young. I am extremely proud of the way we finished the game today."

On Bianca Thomas...
"That's the quietest 26 points I've ever seen. Bianca has attracted a lot of attention, sometimes two or three bodies at a time. If our kids will be patient, they will understand that, and they will get open looks as was the case today with Liz Robertson. Liz is a guard that we play at forward, and she can set screens and pop shots and that opens it up for Bianca and it opens up the paint. I thought the difference today was probably Liz."

On Liz Robertson...
"She was battling and she's undersized. I would imagine most post players outweigh her by 40 pounds, and a couple times she literally had the girl pushed underneath the basket and she still got the rebound. Liz is going to battle every game, and I thought she probably had her best game of the season today."

On Arkansas' comeback in the second half...
"We knew they were very good at penetrating and pitching the ball. We fatigued a little bit and we lost sight of the shooters. We knew they could shoot the three ball very well, and I thought just the fact that we struggled defending in the paint against Ashley McCray. She is a big body and very difficult to get around, so we kept getting too high and didn't have any help side defense and they were finishing their shots."

On the Rebels second half run...
"We got a hold of some of those loose balls and those rebounds that roll out. We had the opportunity to run a little bit. They probably had a really good game plan not pressing us so we couldn't get easy transition baskets. They began pressing us and we began throwing ahead where we had two-on-one situations, making some easy shots. Then we started being stagnate against the press and tentative and it kept us on one end of the floor. I think the difference was when they started applying pressure and we were pushing the ball ahead and making easy baskets."
