OXFORD, Miss. - Ole Miss senior golfer Jonathan Randolph and incoming junior Zach Primavera will be competing in the 80th annual Dixie Amateur beginning Saturday at Heron Bay Golf Club in Coral Springs, Fla., and the Inverrary Golf Club in Lauderhill, Fla.

The Dixie Amateur has risen over the years to become one of the elite amateur tournaments of the year. The men's championship field of more than 300 is a who's who of amateur collegiate golf, including defending champion Peter Uihlein (Oklahoma State).

The 72-hole stroke play event begins Saturday with the first round and concludes Tuesday, Dec. 21. The field will be cut to the low 60 plus ties for the final two rounds.

Randolph is coming off a successful last outing, as he tied for sixth at the Western Refining College All-America Classic in El Paso, Texas back in November. The returning All-American posted two top 10 finishes in the fall and led the Rebels with a 71.07 stroke average.

Primavera, who will join the team in the spring, was a junior college All-American at Central Alabama Community College and finished second at the Florida State Amateur this past summer.

Also in the field is recent signee Blake Morris, who hails from Connecticut but attends school in Florida.
