Ole Miss opened the year 1-0 and is taking its first road trip of the year to Lamar on Tuesday. Maggie McFerrin leads Ole Miss in scoring at 11.0 ppg while Nikki Byrd and Valencia McFarland are each averaging 5.0 rpg after one game this season. Head coach Renee Ladner is in her fifth season at the helm.
OLE MISS IN SEASON OPENERS
Ole Miss improved to 4-1 in season openers under Renee Ladner and is now 32-6 all-time after beating North Florida to open the season. The Rebels have won their last four season openers and have not lost a season opener at home since 1998.

Ole Miss leads the all-time series between the two schools, 2-0. In the last meeting between the two schools, the Rebels beat the Cardinals, 77-68, in Beaumont on February 2, 1994.
A LOOK AT LAMAR
Lamar is 1-1 this season having beat Our Lady of the Lakes before falling to defending national champions, Texas A&M. The Cardinals are led by Kalis Loyd who averages 22.0 ppg. Danielle Heithoff averages a team-leading 7.5 rebounds per game. As a team, Lamar averages 70.0 ppg while its opponents average 72.0.

LADNER ONE WIN AWAY FROM 60 AT OLE MISS
Fifth-year head coach Renee Ladner is one win away from 60 for her career. She recorded her 50th career win at Ole Miss last season with the Rebels' 69-60 win over Sam Houston State in the championship game of the Inn at Ole Miss Classic. Ladner is the fourth all-time winningest coach in Ole Miss history with 59 wins. Currently she trails Carol Ross (2003-07, 77 wins); Ron Aldy (1997-2003, 79 wins); and Van Chancellor (1978-1997, 439 wins).
MCFERRIN LEADS TEAM IN SCORING
Junior Maggie McFerrin led Ole Miss in scoring against North Florida with 11 points. It marked the first time in her career she led the team in scoring. She finished with a game-high three three pointers and was one point away from tying her career high of 12 points set last season against Georgia.
MCFARLAND LEADS TEAM IN ASSISTS...AGAIN
Sophomore Valencia McFarland, who recorded a team-leading five assists in a win over North Florida to start the season, has recorded at least five assists in 12 career games for Ole Miss. As a freshman, she finished the year with a team-leading 123 assists.
