Melson Named To The SEC Community Service Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Senior guard Kayla Melson was named to the SEC Community Service Team, the SEC announced Wednesday.
Melson, who earlier this week was named to the Second Team All-SEC, has participated in many community service events including the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Adopt a Family at Christmas, canned food drives, shoe drives and Reading With The Rebels.
This season Melson is also a finalist for the Cellular South Gillom Trophy honoring the best female basketball player in the state of Mississippi.
Melson and the 12th-seeded women's basketball team will open play in the SEC Tournament Thursday at 6:30 p.m. against fifth-seeded South Carolina. The game will be televised on Fox Sport South. Also, fans can get game updates through the women's basketball team's official Twitter @olemisswbb.
