BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Ole Miss senior golfer Jonathan Randolph earned All-SEC second team honors, as the men's golf conference yearly awards were announced Monday by the league office.
This marks the third SEC honor for Randolph and the second in a row. He was named to the first team last year and made the All-Freshman Team in 2008. A first team All-American last year, Randolph becomes the seventh player in the history of the program to earn All-SEC first or second team honors more than once.
"We really appreciate Jonathan Randolph's great play and leadership the last two years," head coach Ernest Ross said. "To be an All-SEC player for two consecutive years in this league is a tremendous honor."
Randolph leads the team with a 71.38 stroke average and has four top five and six top 10 finishes. The Brandon, Miss., native owns 15 career top-five and 21 career top-10 finishes, which ranks him third in both categories.
Florida head coach Buddy Alexander was named Coach of the Year, Gator Bank Vongvanij earned Golfer of the Year honors and Alabama's Cory Whitsett was tabbed the Freshman of the Year. Co-Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors went to Vongvanij and Vanderbilt's Ryan Haselden.
