OXFORD, Miss. - Marcel Thiemann, Chris Thiemann and Tucker Vorster, of the Ole Miss men's tennis team, will be participating in the NCAA individual championships, as the selections for the singles and doubles were announced Wednesday.

Marcel and Vorster earned a bid in the 64-player singles bracket, while Marcel and Chris grabbed a spot in the 32-team doubles field. Marcel and Vorster are among 14 players from the SEC to make the singles field.

Earning his second NCAA Singles bid, Marcel ended the regular season ranked No. 37 in the nation and made the All-SEC first team for the second year in a row. He reached the NCAA quarterfinals last year on his way to becoming the 25th All-American in program history.

Vorster has had a great year, earning All-SEC second team honors for the second straight season and finishing the regular season ranked No. 52. He posted a huge win over the nation's No. 3 ranked player, Rhyne Williams (Tennessee), in the SEC Tournament, which helped the Pretoria, South Africa native secure his first NCAA Singles bid.

The twins are in the NCAA Doubles for the second year in a row. They completed the regular season ranked No. 10 nationally.

The NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships will take place May 25-30 at the Taube Tennis Center on the campus of Stanford University following the team competition.

The Rebels earned their 18th consecutive NCAA bid in the team championships and will travel to Los Angeles, Calif., to face UC Irvine in the first round Friday, May 13 at 12 p.m. CT.
