Ole Miss Drops Game Two To No. 5 Crimson Tide

OXFORD, Miss. - The Ole Miss Rebels dropped the second game of a three-game set to No. 5 Alabama 18-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Ole Miss Softball Complex.
The Crimson Tide posted six runs in the top of the first highlighted by an RBI triple to right center by center fielder Jennifer Fenton. Alabama was aided by three walks and a hit by pitch from the Ole Miss pitching staff in the frame.
Alabama added six more runs in the third highlighted by a two-run single from designated player Amanda Locke and a two-run double to left by right fielder Jazlyn Lunceford.
The Tide added another six-spot in the fourth including a two-run single by Locke and an RBI single from Lunceford that put Alabama up 18-0 after four innings.
Ole Miss third baseman Londen Lander put the Rebels on the scoreboard in the fifth with an RBI single up the middle that plated Brittany Broome.
The Rebels and Crimson Tide wrap up the series tomorrow at 1 p.m. at the Ole Miss Softball. The game will be televised by Fox Sports Net South and the Rebels will honor seniors Brittany Barnhill, Lindsey Perry and Rachel Torres before the game.
