LEXINGTON, Ky. - It was another big day for the Ole Miss men's tennis team at the SEC Indoor Championships, as three players earned spots in the quarterfinals of singles, including two huge wins for two of the Rebel freshmen. The Rebels will also have one team in the quarterfinals of doubles.

Freshman William Kallberg was the first Rebel to reach the quarterfinals, and he did so by knocking off the top seed and the nation's No. 3 ranked player, Wil Spencer of Georgia in straight sets. Kallberg, a lefty with a big serve, came up huge in a first set tiebreaker, winning it 7-3. He carried that momentum into the second set dominating the All-American 6-1 and handing him just his third loss of the year.

Kallberg will seek to take out another seeded player as he faces Kentucky's Anthony Rossi, seeded No. 7, in the quarterfinals.

Nik Scholtz is considered one of the top newcomers in the nation and he has delivered thus far in his debut for the Rebels. Like his teammate, Scholtz won a first set tiebreaker against 13th-ranked Alex Musialek (UK) 7-6(2), and then took the second set 6-3 against the No. 4 seed.

Scholtz will play another UK player, Tom Jomby, in the quarterfinals.

Not to be outshined by the freshmen, junior Jonas Lutjen went about his business quietly defeating Florida's Andrew Butz 6-1, 6-4 to move onto a quarterfinal meeting with No. 5 ranked and second seeded Eric Quigley (UK).

Concluding the day in main draw singles, Marcel Thiemann was the last Rebel on court to try and join his teammates in the quarterfinals, but alas, he came up just short falling 6-7(1), 6-1, 6-4 to Georgia's KU Singh.

The twin duo of Marcel and Chris Thiemann, advanced to the quarterfinals in doubles after the Alabama team withdrew due to injury. They will face Kentucky's Musialek and Alejandro Gomez. In other action, Lutjen and Scholtz lost a close one to the Georgia team of Spencer and Garrett Brasseaux, 9-7. Adrian Forberg Skogeng and Joe Rogers were supposed to play a team from South Carolina, but were not able to as Rogers got hurt in his singles match Friday.

The quarterfinals will begin at 9 a.m. CT and fans can follow all the day's action through the tournament's live blog.
