TULSA, Okla. - Ole Miss men's tennis senior Jonas Lutjen won his second round match in consolation at the ITA All-American Championships Friday morning to advance to the quarterfinals at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

After a three-set match in yesterday's main draw first round and another one in the first round of consolation, Lutjen needed only two sets to defeat LSU's Chris Simpson in the second round. Lutjen, ranked No. 21 in the nation, won the first set 6-2 and had a big lead in the second set before Simpson tied it up at 5 all. Simpson, ranked No. 58 in singles, couldn't maintain the momentum long enough to force a third set, as Lutjen won the final two games and the set 7-5.

Lutjen improved to 10-2 on the year, including four ranked wins. The quarterfinal match will be a battle of Top 25 players, as Lutjen faces Cal-Poly's Andre Dome, ranked No. 20.
