Lewis, Brozovich Lead Rebels In Second Round

PONTE VEDRA, Fla. - Joe Lewis and Billy Brozovich each carded a 3-over 75 in the second round of the John Hayt Invitational, as the Rebels shot a 306 for the day to fall to 12th place.
Central Florida (No. 17) followed their 294 performance on Sunday with the same score in the second round. The Golden Knights hold a three-stroke lead over No. 8 Arkansas, Tennessee, and North Texas, who are all tied for second.
Lewis' 75 was a repeat performance of his first round on Sunday, as the freshman once again overcame early struggles on the front-nine by shooting a 2-under on the second half of the course, including a birdie on the final hole.
Conversely, Brozovich, who began the day at 5-over, started the day off well by rolling through the first 13 holes at 1-under before running into trouble on the 14-16 holes.
After shooting an even-par 72 on Sunday, senior Joe David posted a 77 on Monday. The Madison, Tenn., native did take some momentum into the clubhouse with an eagle on the 18th hole.
Sophomore Tom Brown and freshman Blake Morris each shot a 79 on the day for the Rebels.
