OXFORD, Miss. -- Freshman Braden Thornberry has been named a First-Team Rolex Junior All-Americans by the American Junior Golf Association the organization announced Monday. He has established himself among the top tier of current and former junior golfers from around the world.

Thornberry, an Olive Branch, Mississippi native, finished runner-up at the Thunderbird International Junior in 2015. Outside of his AJGA tournaments, he finished sixth at the Junior PGA Championship and won the Bubba Conlee National Junior. Thornberry advanced to the round of 16 at the Polo Golf Junior Classic and played in the Wyndham Cup for the East Team.

Thornberry has found the top-20 twice this fall in collegiate play, including a tied for eighth finish at the Erin Hills Intercollegiate, host of the 2017 U.S. Open. He also has the team's best 18-hole score, firing a 67 in the second round at Erin Hills.

This is his third straight appearance as a Rolex Junior All-American.
