KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Despite an SEC-leading 12th double-double of the season from junior outside hitter Lexi Thompson, the Ole Miss volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (15-25, 18-25, 16-25) match at Tennessee Friday night at Thompson Boling Arena.
Tennessee raced out to an 8-3 lead and never looked back hitting .324 to take the first set 25-15. Thompson notched seven kills on a .357 clip for the lone bright spot in the set for the Rebels who hit just .000.

From there the Volunteers closed on a 13-6 run to finish off the set 25-18 and go into the break up 2-0.
After the break, Tennessee came out and gained a 6-3 lead in set three, but the Rebels turned it around on a 6-3 run to tie it at 9. The Volunteers immediately answered with a 5-1 run to back in front 14-10 forcing Ole Miss to call a timeout. Tennessee kept the pressure on and after an ace by Erica Treiber gave the Volunteers a 17-10 lead, Ole Miss called its final timeout.
