Ole Miss Women's Basketball is Costa Rica Bound

OXFORD, Miss. -- The Ole Miss women's basketball team will pack their bags and head to Costa Rica for a 10-day foreign tour in the central American country on Aug. 1. The Rebels, who will visit San Jose and Los Suenos, will play exhibition games against the University of Costa Rica and the University of Ottawa.

Ole Miss will bring its entire 2016-17 team including incoming freshmen Shelby Gibson (Murfreesboro, Tenn./Oakland), Kate Rodgers (Birmingham, Ala./Wenonah) and Bree Glover (Glasgow, Ky./Glasgow HS). This will be Ole Miss' first international trip since taking a trip to Canada in 2011 where they played four games and explored Vancouver. The Rebels also went on an international trip when they traveled to the Bahamas in 2007.

Per NCAA rules, incoming players who take and pass at least three credits during summer school are eligible to travel on the trip. Additionally, the Rebels will be able to get a jumpstart on the 2016-17 season with 10 practices prior to their trip to Costa Rica. All games will be played in accordance with FIBA rules.
