OleMissSports.com: What made Ole Miss stand out for you?
BG: Everyone always says it's a family environment and that is really what I came here for. When I came here it felt like home and the college you go to, you want it to feel like a second home because that's where you are going to be for four years -- that's your home. That was my one goal when looking at colleges; I wanted a college that was going to be home and that was definitely Ole Miss.

OleMissSports.com: What would be your ultimate achievement to accomplish while here at Ole Miss? BG: I am more of a team person. My main achievement would be things to do as a team, as far as championships, getting rings, cutting down nets, that's mainly what I'm looking forward to. The only individual achievement I have is to do what I can to help my team get championships!

OleMissSports.com: How did you get into basketball?
BG: It's actually kind of crazy, my Dad was coaching an AAU team and I was just in there practicing and I told him, 'I want to play basketball' and ever since then, I was always with my Dad. We had this little hoop outside, it was nowhere near an actual hoop, but it was a hoop! I was about two or three years old what I started playing ball, I was young! It's always been in my life.

OleMissSports.com: What is the most different thing about Oxford, Mississippi and Glasgow, Kentucky?
BG:
It's not much different! Oxford is just like my city. Here in Oxford, everyone knows each other and you're all family and that's exactly how it's like in my town. It is different from my city as far as there are a lot of people here that are friendlier than what they are in Glasgow. There are a lot of friendly people here!

OleMissSports.com: What have you had to adjust to most since being here at Ole Miss?
BG: Time management! Period. If you're an athlete you have zero amount of time because you are always on a schedule. You just really have to learn how to manage your time. I've really had to learn what I need to do and figure out what I'm doing for the day and fill in the slots of what I can do.

OleMissSports.com: What has been the best piece of advice someone has given you to help you succeed?
BG: Basketball-wise, it would be to get into the gym everyday. Try and make yourself better and never be satisfied with what you are and how you are playing. I try to get into the gym as much as I can to help try and build my game.

OleMissSports.com: How has your team helped you adapt to being a student athlete?
BG: They give me pointers on how to handle class work, stuff like getting to class and where buildings are. They have told me things that they have experienced and given me a heads up on the fall and how hard it's going to be. They have really been there for me!

OleMissSports.com: Who has had the most influence on you?
BG: My head coach, coach Matt (Insell). He was one of the main reasons why I came here. He talked to me everyday and he really persuaded me on why this was the right choice and why Ole Miss is where I needed to be. He encouraged me and told me that I am a good player. He let me know that he had faith in me and that is what gave me the courage and hope to come here and play ball.

OleMissSports.com: What would you say to younger athletes who want to strive to do what you are doing?
BG: Just keep working hard. Just keep doing you and being the best player that you can be. Don't give up on anything that you are trying to do. Just keep striving, because you are going to get better regardless. If you just keep practicing and keep working hard then you are going to get better. Don't ever give up.
